Join the Summer Staff at Rock Springs!

Do you thrive in a team environment? Enjoy working with youth? Like being outdoors? Look no further than Rock Springs Ranch! Our primary responsibility is to serve campers and set a great example for them in every way.

The goals of the summer are:

  • To provide a Safe, Educational and Fun environment for campers
  • To provide positive role models for campers
  • To provide professional development opportunities through workshops and hands-on experiences widen your skill sets and and knowledge for a successful future



Rock Springs Ranch is part of the Kansas 4-H Foundation, a non-profit organization. We strive to make the best better for all Kansas youth through leadership, educational and service opportunities. Rock Springs Ranch is located just outside of Junction City, KS. We are about 45 minutes from Manhattan, and two hours from both Kansas City and Wichita. During the summer we host a wide variety of camps and retreats including: Summer Camp, Family Reunions, Church Retreats, Specialty Camps and many more.

Established in 1946, Rock Springs has continued to grow along the way. Staff members come from a variety of backgrounds from around the state, country and world. If you are looking for an opportunity to grow and develop your skills in a fun and rewarding summer job, apply for this experience.

We are happy to work with college students for internships in order to gain college credit. Past camp internships have included: park management, conservation, animal science, natural resources, marketing, communication & journalism, education, hospitality & tourism, nursing, and more!

Important Dates


Lead Training (for all those hired into a leadership position):

  • May 15-19

Specialty Training (lifeguards, ropes, shooting, equestrian, etc.):

  • May 20-24

Staff Training (MANDATORY for all summer staff):

  • May 27-31

Summer Dates (half-week & week-long sessions):

  • June 2- July 16

Additional Work Opportunities (rental groups):

  • July 17- August 11

*Alternative start, end, and vacation dates may be arranged.
