The Place Where Memories Are Made And Adventure Happens
Since 1946, Rock Springs Ranch has given the kids of Kansas space to grow, space to try and space to succeed. Under an endless sky filled with endless stars generations of families have passed on the legacy of the tallgrass prairie.
Rock Springs Ranch Exists To Be A Catalyst For Our State And For The Betterment Of Kansans, Starting With Our Children
Rock Springs Ranch has been a tradition for kids across Kansas since 1946. And while they are hiking, swimming, horseback riding, or simply sitting by a fire under a starry night sky, they are also learning the kinds of lessons that last a lifetime. They “unplug” and explore what it means to stretch socially, emotionally, physically and cognitively.
Many make friends for life
Uniquely located in the Flint Hills and grounded in 4-H values, Rock Springs prepares current and future generations with leadership development, conservation education and sportsmanship skills.

Our Location
The Flint Hills are a landscape of endless horizons, rolling hills and sculpted plateaus. Filled with beauty and history, they are among the last remaining areas of the tallgrass prairie.
Home to over 150 birds, 40 reptiles and amphibians and 35 mammal species, the Flint Hills are a stunning and diverse ecosystem. Fossils found here can be dated to over 250 million years old. It’s a remarkable example of tallgrass prairie and surrounds Rock Springs for an amazing exploration opportunity.
Rock Springs isn't just located in the Tallgrass Prairie
We are also committed to their preservation. There is a mere 4% remaining of the original prairie. We work everyday to preserve the 735 acres that Rock Springs calls home. If you’d like to help you can donate here.
